Capcom has confirmed that a new installment in the extraordinarily successful Resident Evil saga is currently in development for the PlayStation3, Xbox 360 and PC. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, currently scheduled for release this winter, is the result of a collaboration between Capcom and Slant 6 Games, a Vancouver based studio. The announcement comes with the promise that the game will take the series in a completely new direction and will introduce a style of gameplay yet to be seen from the franchise.

Set in the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City takes the players back to 1998, time in which Raccoon City faces the T-virus outbreak and its horrific consequences. … More

The game will be released simultaneously on PS3 and Xbox360, in both Europe and North America, on the 9th of March 2010. The announcement came from Square Enix Ltd. on the November 13, 2009. It was also mentioned that the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Leona Lewis has come on board with Square Enix to provide the theme song for Final Fantasy XIII. The song is entitled “My Hands,” and is featured on her highly-anticipated second album ECHO (J Records/Syco Music) set for release on November 16th.
