The Sims 3 Generations Expansion Announced

The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc, announced on April 5, 2011 that The Sims 3 Generations, an expansion for the original game, is in development and is set for release this spring. In The Sims 3 Generations players will be able to control characters in different stages of their lives and enjoy humorous and memorable moments from childhood and teenage years to adulthood.

Dragon Age 2 is one of those games released carrying the burden of high expectations and predefined conceptions, both based on the standards setting success of the previous installment, Dragon Age: Origins. With the RPG genre being probably the most reluctant in the face of evolution, the new Dragon Age was met by the gaming community with mixed feelings, many claiming that the game doesn’t meet the nowadays RPG quota, while others fell instantly in love with what the game has to offer. Activision Vs. EA $400m Lawsuit Allowed To Continue

California Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle allowed the Activision vs. EA lawsuit to continue, considering that the plaintiff provided enough evidence to support this decision. Activision can now go ahead with three of the four original legal claims against EA. The lawsuit is scheduled for May, 2011 and Electronic Arts is facing the possibility of losing $400m in the process.

EA, the second largest US video game publisher, is accused of helping Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella to breach their contract. A new trailer video and a new website was unveiled today, March 10, 2011 for The Secret World, a massively multiplayer online game developed and published by the leading game developer Funcom. Online rumors claiming that the sequel to Mirror`s Edge, the single-player first person shooter action-adventure game released in 2008, has been canceled recently pushed the publisher EA to offer official comments related to the issues. Several games sites interpreted the indirect quotes attributed by the Swedish site Press 2 Play TV to EA senior VP Patrick Soderlund as a sign that further developments on the game had been stopped. On March 1, 2011 a multiplayer demo of Crysis 2 will be available for download on the game’s official site. Crysis 2 is the latest installment in the science-fiction 1st person-shooter Crysis series, developed by Crytek Frankfurt and published by Electronic Arts. The demo will feature two maps, two exciting modes and multiple hours of multiplayer gaming.

The war-torn Manhattan will become an arena where players will battle six vs. six on two maps: Skyline and Pier 17. After its release it sky-rocketed in top positions in software charts across the globe and in the UK alone it stood anchored in pole position for two consecutive weeks with competitors such as Call of Duty: Black Ops and Little Big Planet 2 at its heels. On July 20 2010 Electronic Arts announced a new project – Darkspore, a sci-fi action-RPG, designed by Thomas Vu and developed by Maxis that will feature a more advanced real-time character creation and editing than the one seen in Spore.
