Pandorum – Review

Posted by admin on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Pandorum falls in the large gap of mediocrity most movies nowadays do, leaving you with mixed feelings and with the impression that you haven’t completely wasted your time watching it, but you can’t put your finger on any of its features and call them brilliant. It’s common and easily forgotten.

The plot is simple, as the rest of the movie: in the future, the human race, facing extinction, sends into space towards a recently discovered planet that resembles Earth, a large colonization space ship. Due to malfunctions to the cryogenic sleep systems, a large part of the human cargo suffers mutations and turns into a cannibalistic life form with superhuman strength and enhanced predator abilities. A small group of survivors fights to save both ship and its decimated cargo, but to make matters worse some of them suffer from Pandorum, … More

The Twilight Series – A Mis(t)ery

Posted by admin on Monday, November 16th, 2009

After seeing the movie I decided to read the books to see what the whole fuss is about. I must admit I couldn’t bring myself to read the whole damn thing so I just cheated and read only the first and the forth book from the series created by Stephenie Meyer. I know this is going to turn into a shower of toxic comments, but I must know, I must understand. And I’m not going to pick a fight with the writer or the publisher because I couldn’t possibly hope to blame them for the books’ popularity, it’s not like they forced anyone to buy them. … More

Set in the nearby future timeframe, the movie presents us with the scenario in which almost the entire world population uses robotic surrogates that look, walk and talk just as regular humans do, to perform their daily activities. From the safety of their home, humans can connect to these robots and carry on with their lives without ever worrying about their good looks, personal safety or the consequences of their actions. Posted by admin on Sunday, November 15th, 2009

The game will be released simultaneously on PS3 and Xbox360, in both Europe and North America, on the 9th of March 2010. The announcement came from Square Enix Ltd. on the November 13, 2009. It was also mentioned that the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Leona Lewis has come on board with Square Enix to provide the theme song for Final Fantasy XIII. The song is entitled “My Hands,” and is featured on her highly-anticipated second album ECHO (J Records/Syco Music) set for release on November 16th. As a side note: I listened to the song and I can honestly say I couldn’t have imagined a more common and boring succession of sounds as the one provided by this so called artist I have never heard of before. But maybe it’s just me… … More

So let’s just leave the cutscene where they are for now, at least until I finish with this tiny text-pill and then you can do whatever you wish with them.

Cutscenes appeared as a by-product of some game-developer’s need to tell us more of the stage on which his characters perform, about their emotions and needs, about the story and about some other things we never actually care about. … More
