Posted by Dante on

F.E.A.R. 3 was released in autumn 2010 on multiple gaming systems as PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows PC. F.E.A.R 3 was presented as a first-person shooter horror game, a new installment for F.E.A.R. franchise, featuring intense combat gameplay and a co-op option.

In F.E.A.R. 3 you are able to fill the shoes of Alma`s sons, Point Man and Paxton Fettel, in a divergent co-op gameplay, that gives players the possibility to control different abilities which can affect both your and your co-op partner`s in-game experience. Point Man, a super soldier originally introduced in F.E.A.R. is available in single player or co-op modes, but players can chose to play cooperatively as Point Man`s brother, Paxton Fettel controlling his incredible telekinetic powers. Day 1 Studios, the developer of the original F.E.A.R, also developed F.E.A.R. 3 console games in collaboration with Monolith Studios.

“Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is evolving the F.E.A.R. brand with top horror, co-op and first person shooter combat in F.E.A.R. 3,” said Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Monolith Productions has passed the torch to Day 1 Studios to create a quality, powerful game that stays true to the roots of the F.E.A.R. franchise but takes players to a heightened level of gameplay.”

Some of the game`s frightening aspects were developed with the help and advice of two horror masters:  John Carpenter, legendary horror director and Steve Niles, script writer and critically acclaimed horror comic ensuring with their implication a level of terror capable to make you jump from your seat in fear. The script was wrote by the development team in cooperation with Steve Niles, while John Carpenter provided his ingenious ideas in the development of the in-game cinematics.

Danny Thorley, Founder and President, Day 1 Studios said :“After working closely with Monolith, Day 1 is honoured to bring the next iteration of the F.E.A.R. franchise to gamers with key elements of the past games yet providing fresh combat and horror experiences in F.E.A.R. 3.” He also added that “Players can look forward to new features such as divergent co-op, an evolved cover system, and more scares in F.E.A.R. 3.”
